As General Chairs representing two of Brazil's leading research institutions — the University of Campinas and the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo — we, Plinio A. Barbosa and Sandra Madureira, are honored and delighted to welcome you to this landmark event.

It will be the first time INTERSPEECH will be held in South America, hosted in its largest city, the lively and cosmopolitan city of São Paulo in the state of São Paulo.

INTERSPEECH is a conference organized by the International Speech Communication Association. As the world’s most prestigious international forum for speech science and technology, it plays a vital role in advancing knowledge in a field of such relevance to the economy and society. It achieves this by fostering fruitful collaboration between academia and industry, investing in theoretical and technological innovation, and ensuring the excellence of its keynote lectures and presentations while addressing the evolving demands of society.

INTERSPEECH conferences cover all scientific and technological aspects of speech. More than 2,000 participants from around the world attend the conference annually to present their work in oral, poster, and technological tool demonstration sessions. Several satellite workshops and a Scientific and Industrial Exhibition significantly enrich the conference content.

INTERSPEECH papers are indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, ISI, Engineering Index, and Google Scholar. The selection of papers is made by members of the Congress Scientific Committee and follows a double-blind peer review process. Selection criteria include innovation, theoretical and technical quality, thematic relevance, clarity, and correctness of presentation.

ISCA

ISCA is an international non-profit association dedicated to promoting the science and technology of speech communication in a global context. The association achieves its objectives by stimulating scientific research and education, organizing conferences and exhibitions, and offering specialized courses. It further supports the field through the publication and distribution of scientific articles, the study of diverse languages, and the facilitation of scientific exchanges and industry-academia collaborations. Composed of full members (individuals and legal entities), honorary members, associate members, and student members, ISCA fosters innovation in areas such as speech recognition, synthesis, and linguistics. Through its INTERSPEECH Conference, as well as various publications and training initiatives, the association ensures global scientific exchange for inclusive, fair, and impactful speech technologies. ISCA has organized INTERSPEECH since its transition from the original European association, formerly known as ESCA.

ISCA is governed by a Council composed of members elected by secret ballot from within the association. Each Council member holds specific responsibilities covering a wide range of scientific, educational, industrial, and societal activities, as detailed here: https://www.isca-speech.org/Committees
